The Challenge
TAFE Queensland Gold Coast had an extensive CCTV system in place — but the footage wasn’t cutting it. Despite having many cameras on site, the image quality made it difficult to identify people, and the outdated software made it time-consuming to review and retrieve footage.
As Jerome Van Gramberg from the TAFE infrastructure team put it:
“Even though there are many cameras on site, it’s difficult to positively identify persons on our watch list. The security team has to wait until someone is very close to a camera before they can be recognised.”
A Smarter Surveillance Upgrade
BLUi Security worked closely with TAFE Queensland to overhaul the system — installing thirty strategically placed Full HD IP cameras. These new cameras provided broader coverage with fewer units and allowed the team to clearly identify people from further distances.
The cameras were integrated with D-Link’s D-ViewCam software, giving the onsite team a clean, easy-to-use interface for reviewing footage and exporting clips.
